So you know how you get random email forwards and half the time the cure-all or the get-rich-quick scheme is totally false and a waste of time to even read? Well, the other day at school, the teachers I teach with were talking about an email they received that talked about Vick's Vapor rub and feet. I've received the email before, but didn't think it worked... but little did I know! Basically the email stated that if you have a cough/cold and are having trouble breathing at night, instead of rubbing Vick's on your chest like the instructions state, you should put it on your feet, then put socks on. It works faster and better. Believable? I didn't think so, but since the conversation at school, two of the teachers have tried it. One tried it on her 8-year-old daughter two nights in a row. Previous to the experiment her daughter was up most of the night coughing. Both nights, with Vick's and socks on her feet, the little girl stopped coughing and was able to sleep. Coincidence, well I thought so until a another teacher's 5 month old baby came down with a cold. She too was having trouble sleeping at night because of her stuffy nose. After the Vick's conversation, my teacher friend put some Vick's on her feet with some socks and the baby was able to breathe and get some sleep.

I'm pretty much convinced now that it works. Personally, I would never do it to myself because I would rather not sleep while coughing and blowing my nose, then to sleep with something on my feet, but it works great for kids. I know we are coming to the end of cold season, but perhaps it will help some of you parents out there sleep better at night if you use this remedy on your kids. Oh, and P.S., I'm going to Disneyland tomorrow!!! So forward my calls, and any mail can be forwarded to the Happiest Place on Earth. I'll just pick it up from Mickey!

You are so fantastic! Thanks for the heads up about Vicks. I've had the e-mail before too, but I've never tried it. The next time Avery gets a cold (heaven forbid!) I'll try it and add my testimonial to the ones already there. And P.S., have such a fun time in Disneyland!
It does work! I was skeptical until November when we tried it and it worked! Crazy but true. I hope you have so much fun at Disneyland! I am so jealous of your vacation.
I'm totally logging this one away. I'll pull it out the next time Tabi can't sleep because of a stuffy nose. thanks! I hope you're having a blast at Disney Land!
I tried it myself and it really works! My cousins doctor recommended it.
Also, if you have a sore throat, gargle with half milk of magnesia, half liquid benedryl. I tried it. The results were immediate and permanent.
I remember as a child getting the Vick's and the Vaseline mixed up.
Boy, there is a pain that lingers.
My chapped lips never forgave me.
I learn so much from the internet. Thank you for your contribution.
